Princess Castle Coloring Page

A castle with five pointed turrets rises behind this figure, and the artist kept its detailing restrained: arched windows, a band of battlements, a slim finial on the tallest spire and little else. That restraint is what lets the gown carry the page.

The dress falls from a fitted bodice into a wide skirt that reaches the grass, drawn with long sweeping folds and almost no interior decoration. It is effectively a large blank shape, which makes it the natural place to try blending, a gradient, or a pattern of your own invention. A small tiara sits in her hair, and her hair itself falls in loose waves over one shoulder.

Flowers fill the bottom third on both sides, with wide open blooms at the front and smaller buds behind, and clipped hedges sit at the outer edges.

Five butterflies drift across the sky between the towers. Cloud shapes fill the rest, drawn as soft scallops with plenty of white left inside them.

Younger children can take the castle and the sky, since those regions are large and closed, while the gown suits anyone who wants one big surface to work carefully.
