A knight has stopped for the night and taken his helmet off. He sits in profile with it held in both hands in his lap, still in plate with a tabard over the top, and without the helm you can finally see his face. A fallen log lies across the middle of the clearing. To his right a campfire burns inside a ring of cut log ends, the flames drawn as open outlines rather than filled shapes. Two tents are pitched behind him, a small one off to the left and a larger one at the center. Behind everything stands a wall of close packed pines.

One honest warning before you print: the open flap of the big tent is a solid dark triangle. It is the only patch on the sheet that cannot be colored, and it is small.

The pines are repetitive in a restful way, and the fire is the obvious place for your one warm color on an otherwise cool page.

A knight on campaign traveled with servants, spare horses and a tent, and taking the helmet off was the first thing anyone did on stopping. Inside a closed helm you can hear very little and see less.
