A young pilot sits at the heart of a giant robot, framed by the open hatch of its chest, with a small closed smile and both hands wrapped around a pair of control grips. She wears a rounded flight helmet with a raised visor clip on the crown and a thick padded ear cover on each side, and a harness crosses her chest over a ribbed flight suit.

Everything around her is built from flat plates. The hatch curves up and over her head like a canopy, the robot's shoulders rise on either side as stacked slabs, and a row of vents and panel seams runs across the machine below the seat. Most of those plates are large and empty, which makes this an unusually forgiving sheet for how technical it looks. The pilot herself is the finest work on the page and the only place with small shapes.

A trick worth trying: pick two related tones for the armor and alternate them panel by panel rather than filling the whole machine in one. Real mecha designs are assembled from separately molded parts, and alternating tones is what sells that. Keep the pilot in warmer shades so she stays visible inside all that plating, and leave the vent slots white so they read as openings instead of stickers.
