Happy Frog Sitting on a Lily Pad Coloring Page

A frog sits on a broad oval lily pad with a few ripple lines spreading out across the water around it. The pad gives you one big easy shape to fill, the frog gives you another, and the water below stays open paper, so you can leave it white or lay in a pale blue. Two colors finish this page and it still looks complete. Lily pads float because their stems run all the way down to the mud at the bottom of the pond, and the waxy top of each pad keeps the water off, which is why a frog can sit on one and stay dry. The frog faces straight forward with its webbed back feet spread flat on the pad and its eyes up on top of its head. The shapes are large and the outlines are thick, so this sheet works from about age four. It makes a good second page after the plain sitting frog, since the animal is drawn the same way and only the setting changes.
