Ferry Boat Crossing A Harbor Coloring Page

A harbor ferry runs flat across the page behind two long rows of square windows, with plenty of open hull left to color.

The ferry crosses from left to right, drawn side on and stretched nearly the full width of the paper. Two long rows of windows do most of the work: nine rounded squares along the upper passenger deck and eleven more set into the hull below, all identical, all empty inside. Counting them out and giving each one its own tone is an easy way to spend an afternoon with this sheet.

The wheelhouse sits well aft of the bow with three windows across its front and a thin mast carrying a small crossbar above it. A short boarding platform juts off the stern at the left, with its own little run of windows beneath. Near the bow you will find a single round porthole and a narrow horizontal panel set low on the side.

Under the waterline the ripples are loose and unhurried, thinning out toward the bottom of the page and leaving most of the harbor as open white. A faint horizon runs behind the boat at deck height. Everything above that line is bare, so there is room for a bridge, a city skyline, or a bank of cloud if a plain sky feels too quiet.
