This page is the mask on its own, drawn large and flat to the viewer with nothing else around it. The outline flares out into two wide wings either side of the nose, and a pair of narrow ties runs out from the edges toward the sides of the sheet.
Two big eye openings sit at the center, each one a clean oval with a double outline around it. Everything else is pattern: pointed rays sweeping outward, small five pointed stars scattered through the lower half, hearts, and fine scrollwork curling up toward the top corners of each wing.
The pattern is mirrored. Whatever sits on the left wing sits on the right in the same place, which is what makes this a more interesting page than it first looks. Coloring it symmetrically takes patience and the result looks designed. Breaking the symmetry on purpose, so the two halves differ, looks equally deliberate and is the easier of the two.
Work from the small shapes outward. The stars and scrolls are the tightest areas and they are much simpler to reach before the large surrounding panels are filled. The eye openings should stay as bare paper so the mask still reads as something you could look through.
