Superhero Lifting a Giant Boulder Coloring Page

Both arms go straight up and both hands grip the underside of a rock that is wider than the figure is tall. He stands square underneath it, knees locked, and the whole composition points upward.

The rock is built from flat planes meeting along straight edges rather than being a smooth ball, which is what makes it read as stone. Each plane is a closed area with nothing inside it. That structure gives an older child something genuinely useful to do: shade the facets at different strengths and the rock turns solid and heavy, leave them all one flat tone and it stays light.

Below it the hero is drawn with the chest left blank, a belt with a small buckle, a cape falling behind both legs and boots that turn over at the ankle. The mask is an outline with both eyes showing.

Gray is the obvious answer for the rock and it works, but a sandstone brown or a cold blue both look better against a colored costume than gray does. Whatever you pick, keep the rock duller than the suit. The joke of the page is a small bright figure under an enormous dull weight, and that only works if the weight stays dull.
