Pirate Lookout In The Crow's Nest With A Spyglass Coloring Page

A lookout stands in a crow's nest near the top of this page, raising a spyglass to one eye and pointing it off to the right. The nest itself is the biggest shape on the sheet, a deep barrel with a rolled rim around the top, a broad band fastened across the front by two round studs, and long stave lines running down the sides.

The pirate leans forward over the rim with both hands wrapped around the spyglass, which is drawn as two tapering tubes with a dark circle at the open end. A scarf hangs down from under a wide tricorn hat, and the hat carries a simple skull mark on the crown.

Behind and above, a plain square sail is lashed to a spar by a pair of knotted ties, hanging as a flat panel with no pattern on it at all. Two long ropes run down past the nest on each side and disappear below.

Everything is drawn in a loose hand drawn line that wobbles slightly, and nothing is filled. The sail and the barrel are both large open areas, which balances the finer work on the figure.
