Pirate Adventure Coloring Page

A round faced pirate grins straight out of the page, wearing an oversized tricorn hat with a skull and crossbones on the front and a striped bandana underneath. A parrot perches on his left shoulder with its long tail feathers hanging down, and in his right hand he holds an unrolled map, curled at the corners the way old paper behaves. Behind him the shoreline opens onto calm water with two rocky islands on the horizon and banks of cloud above. The character is drawn in thick cartoon outlines, so younger colorists can manage him without straying. Classic pirate shades are worth using, a deep red sash, a navy or black coat, and a brown belt with a brass buckle. Parrots give you a free excuse for something loud, so try scarlet with green wing feathers. Keep the map a pale cream or tan and leave it mostly light, because a bright map would pull attention away from his face. The sea and sky behind should stay soft, which pushes the pirate forward where he belongs.
