Waterfall With Wildflowers Growing On The Cliffs Coloring Page

Flowers have taken over this cliff. The waterfall drops through the center of the sheet, but the artist has covered the wet rock on either side with clusters of small blooms, trailing stems and rosettes of leaves growing straight out of the cracks. Several flower heads are drawn petal by petal at the front edge of the picture. The density of small shapes makes this an involved page, best suited to adults and to anyone who enjoys detailed botanical work.

With this many blooms, a limited palette beats a full one. Pick three or four flower colors and repeat them across the cliff rather than using a different shade for every cluster, and the page will hold together instead of turning into confetti. Sharpen your pencils often. A blunt tip will not reach into the smaller petals, and there are a lot of them.

This is not artistic license, incidentally. The constant fine spray beside a waterfall creates a narrow band of permanently damp ground called the spray zone, and it supports plants that could not survive on the dry rock a few feet away.
