This design covers the sheet edge to edge with no white margin anywhere. A large hexagonal panel occupies the middle, its border drawn as a broad band of scrolled ornament, and inside it a starburst of narrow pointed petals radiates from a small circle. Surrounding that hexagon, filling every remaining part of the page and running off all four sides, is a repeating ground of ornamental motifs that clearly carries on beyond the edges. It is the darkest page in this group alongside the chevron design, with roughly a third of the surface already inked. The split between panel and ground is what makes it workable. Treat the hexagon as the subject in a full palette and the surrounding ground as wallpaper in one or two muted tones, and the composition stays legible no matter how much color you add. Doing the reverse, or running the same scheme across both, turns the whole sheet into noise. Expect to spend several sittings on it. No part of this page can honestly be described as quick.
