Follow the arc down to the right and you arrive at the payoff. A round bellied iron pot sits on a low mound, heaped so high with coins that they tumble over the rim and scatter across the ground in front of it. Behind the pot stands a leprechaun, visible from the chest up, wearing a tall hat with a wide brim and a buckled band, with a full curling beard and a broad grin under a long nose. One arm rests on the pot as though he is guarding it. The rainbow itself is drawn wide and simple, four thick bands sweeping from the top left corner down to the ground behind him, with the arc left completely open in the middle. All that empty space inside the arc is deliberate and useful, because it gives a child somewhere to draw their own scene if they want one. The coins are the fiddly part, thirty or more small ovals, so a gold or yellow pencil is easier there than a marker. Green for the leprechaun and gold for the pot is the traditional pairing, which makes this an easy print for a St Patrick's Day table.
