Rainbow Arching Over Rolling Hills Coloring Page

What makes this drawing distinctive is how light the arc is. Only three bands are drawn as solid lines and the rest are rendered in dashes and broken strokes, so the rainbow appears to be fading rather than sitting brightly in the sky. Two clouds with flat undersides and bumpy tops float below it, one on each side. Underneath, the land is divided into six or seven overlapping fields, each one bounded by a long curving line and set at a slightly different angle, with a few short strokes suggesting furrows and small tufts of grass drawn along the very bottom edge. Those field shapes are the real opportunity here. Give each one its own green, from yellowish through to a deep blue green, and the patchwork reads as farmland stretching into the distance. Then keep the sky white and the arc pale so the ground carries the page. Rainbows always appear directly opposite the sun, which is why you almost never see one at midday and why late afternoon light produces the tallest arcs, exactly like the one drawn here.
