The hat is what makes this sheet worth printing. It rises well above the pumpkin, bends over near the point, and spreads into a wide flat brim that shades the top of the carved face. A band runs around its base with a square buckle at the front, and none of it arrives filled in black the way a witch hat usually does in a printed illustration. That leaves the biggest shape on the page free for whatever a child picks. Under the brim the lantern keeps the traditional face: triangle eyes, a triangle nose, and a broad grin with square teeth. Two very different areas share one sheet, which is useful for teaching contrast. Let the hat go dark and the pumpkin stay bright, or flip it and put the deep tone in the pumpkin so the hat floats above it. Either way the brim edge is the line to take care with, since it separates the two halves of the drawing. Colored pencils give the most control along that curve, though markers are fine on the hat itself.
