A single clay diya takes up most of this sheet and nothing else competes with it. The lamp is drawn as a wide shallow saucer resting on a short round foot, with the rim swept up into a soft pinched point at one side. That point is where the wick sits, and one tall teardrop flame rises straight out of it, joined to the rim rather than floating above it. Inside the flame there is a second smaller teardrop, so you can shade a bright inner core against a paler outer one if you want to. Everything else is left open. The bowl carries no pattern at all, just its own outline plus a single curved line where the inner wall meets the rim, which means a young child can fill it with one sweep of a crayon and be finished. That is the point of this page. It is the easiest sheet in the set and a good first one to hand to a preschooler who has never seen a diya before. Older children usually add a pool of light around the flame.
